Me, In The Cage

By Mohammed Noor

It’s me in the cage,
Above, an open sky,
But no light,
To help me get by.
It’s me in the hospital,
No relief but the fees are high,
Pain in my body, fear in my mind,
Am I here to die?
It’s me at the school,
Build towering high,
No proper education inside,
Nothing satisfies.
Hundreds of dreams in my mind,
No way to reach them nearby,
Discrimination of all kinds.
It’s me, in the cage
Still here.
Still alive.
A living dead
